I began dancing at 4 with the amazing Trevor Green and loved it.
Sadly, my knees were not made like everyone else’s and during my childhood I had to put up with falls, moon boots, splints, foot surgery and long periods in a wheelchair.
Over this time swimming was the only activity which was safe for me. You can’t fall over in the water!
With some very clever, but gruelling surgery and daily physiotherapy, I was able to get my knees rebuilt. During all my long rehab I was inspired by watching Dance Academy and The Next Step, never giving up on my dream of being a dancer. My surgery and rehab were successful and at last, I can now burn up the floor like I always dreamed.
In Assembly 2020 for La Boite Theatre Company I was able to combine dance within my monologue Quick Fixes to take the audience on a rollercoaster of a ride.
I love HipHop and Jazz, but my favourite style is Contemporary, where I can tell a story through dance and bring all my emotion to the piece. I have been collaborating with the amazing Jacob Watton on our work Waves, performing extensively, including at Impulse at BEMAC Brisbane and The Festival Of Fun Gold Coast 2022.
In September 2022 I performed at Sydney Opera House in True Grit with The Australian Ballet.
